Keratin for hair - 3 ways it helps

Daily styling, heat and coloring create "holes" in the hair fibers. In such a situation, Biokeratin acts as “liquid patch" - it penetrates the hair cortex, fills in damaged areas and restores hair strength and elasticity. As a result, it fills in structural damage.

Biokeratin helps to close the hair scales (cuticle). When the scales are smooth, the hair does not fluff in wet weather, natural moisture is retained inside the hair and the hair becomes silky and easier to comb. As a result, biokeratin provides deep hydration and has an "Anti-frizz" effect.

Biokeratin provides hair with natural shine and color protection. Smooth and healthy hair reflects light better, creating a natural, healthy glow. In addition, if you use products containing biokeratin after coloring, it helps to keep the pigment in the hair longer, preventing the color from washing out so quickly.

How is Bio Keratin obtained and what makes it special

Biokeratin is a natural alternative - this is vegetable keratin, which is obtained from wheat, soy or corn and is therefore closer to the structure of human hair.

1. Penetration into the hair cortex (Internal restoration)

Studies using labeled molecules and microscopy prove that low molecular weight proteins (peptides) are able to penetrate the cuticle and deposit in the hair cortex. Unlike large protein molecules that remain on the surface, hydrolyzed biokeratin fills in keratin losses caused by UV radiation or chemical processing.

Main benefit: Increases hair strength (hair breaks less).

2. Film formation (Surface protection)

Larger fractions of keratin molecules have been shown in studies to have the ability to form a film. This film smoothes the hair cuticle, reducing friction between the hair.

Main benefit: It directly reduces mechanical damage to the hair during combing.

3. Moisture absorption and regulation

Keratin is a hygroscopic material – it attracts water. Studies show that keratin-treated hair is able to maintain a higher relative humidity level inside the hair, even in dry air.

Main benefit: Hair becomes more elastic and less frizzy.

Why bio keratin is a good ingredient in shampoo bars

Biokeratin protects hair from drying out during washing and prevents hair from frizzing after washing.

It also has conditioning properties, namely, it helps smooth the hair cuticle already during washing, which is especially important if a conditioner is not used afterwards.

Biokeratin goes very well with Panthenol (provitamin B5) - they work in synergy, enhancing each other's effect.

What does science say about Bio Keratin in the context of shampoo bars

It has been scientifically proven that keratin is able to bind to the hair (penetrate deep into the hair) even during short-term contact (during washing). This process is called adsorption. Keratin literally "sticks" to damaged areas during washing and does not rinse out completely.

Damaged vs. Healthy hair: Science confirms that the greatest effect (up to 40% improvement in hair strength) is observed directly on chemically damaged or bleached hair. On healthy hair, the effect is mainly visual, namely shine.

Adding bio keratin to shampoo soaps prevents hair from becoming brittle.

MARUSHA Solid Shampoos - Synergy between Science and Nature

MARUSHA Solid Shampoos contain plant extracts and oils important for hair and scalp - Rosemary oil, Olive oil, Neem oil, etc. Biokeratin and added botanical oils work synergistically and effectively strengthen hair from roots to ends, which the client notices after the first wash.

Our shampoo soaps are created as a therapeutic agent, where each ingredient has its own scientifically based task:

 - Biokeratin (Structural Architect): Hydrolyzed proteins identify hair damage and microcracks, filling them and restoring hair strength. This reduces breakage and helps hair regain its natural beauty and smoothness.

- Rosemary Oil (Growth Stimulator): Clinical studies show that rosemary oil can improve blood circulation to the scalp as effectively as some known pharmaceuticals. It stimulates hair follicles, promoting healthy and accelerated growth.

 - Neem Oil (Natural Shield): Known for its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It soothes the scalp, prevents dandruff and maintains an optimal microbiome, which is a prerequisite for healthy hair.

 - Olive Oil (Deep Nourishment): Rich in oleic acid and squalene, it penetrates the hair fiber, restoring the lipid layer and making the hair elastic and soft.

Why is this combination unique?

Most shampoo bars only cleanse, but this formula performs three functions at once:

- Cleanses with gentle foam.

- Treats the scalp (Neem + Rosemary).

- Reconstructs the hair fiber (Biokeratin + Olive Oil).

As a result, hair not only looks healthy, but is structurally stronger and protected from external environmental influences.
